LedEngin Inc. Names David Tahmassebi New President & CEO.

Santa Clara, Calif--(Business Wire) - Oct 9, 2006 - LedEngin, Inc., today announced that David Tahmassebi has joined LedEngin as President and CEO. Tahmassebi succeeds Harry Davoody, who led the company through its breakthrough product launch of three new emitter families, who has decided to pursue other opportunities. In his new role, Tahmassebi is charged with transitioning LedEngin products to volume production and accelerating customer traction as the company gains momentum in the rapidly growing ultra high power Light Emitting Diode (LED) market.

David Tahmassebi joins LedEngin from WK Technology Funds, where he served as Executive-In-Residence (EIR) since January 2006. Prior to WK Technology funds, Tahmassebi served as President and CEO of Berkana Wireless. During his tenure as CEO, he successfully led the strategic and financial development and product direction before the company was sold to Qualcomm in December of 2005.

Previous to Berkana Wireless, David was co-founder, president and CEO of Resonext Communication, an 802.11 fabless semiconductor company founded in November 1999. During his tenure as co-founder, president and CEO, David raised $68M in venture funding and sold Resonext to RF Micro Devices (RFMD) for $133M in December 2002.

Prior to Resonext, David held a number of executive level positions at VLSI Technology and Stanford Telecom.
